Terms of Service

General Provisions

1.1 These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as "the Terms") constitute an agreement between you and the SinoXiv China Preprint Platform (hereinafter referred to as "the Platform" or "SinoXiv") regarding the use of platform services.

1.2 You should read these Terms carefully before using the Platform services. Once you begin using the Platform services, you are deemed to have agreed to and accepted all contents of these Terms.

1.3 The Platform reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time according to business development needs. The modified terms will be published on the Platform and take effect immediately upon publication. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you should stop using the Platform services.

Account Registration & Security

2.1 You promise to register your account with your real identity and guarantee that the information provided is true, accurate, complete, and legally valid. If the information changes, you should update it in a timely manner.

2.2 You should properly safeguard your account and password and bear legal responsibility for all actions under your account. If you discover that your account has been stolen, you should immediately notify the Platform.

2.3 Without the written consent of the Platform, you may not transfer, lend, or otherwise allow others to use your account.

Service Content

3.1 The Platform provides academic services including preprint publication, browsing, downloading, and citation.

3.2 The Platform reserves the right to change, suspend, or terminate part or all of the services at any time without bearing any responsibility to users or third parties.

3.3 The Platform has the right to restrict or ban user accounts based on user behavior, system security, and other factors.

User Conduct

4.1 You promise to comply with national laws and regulations when using the Platform services and not to publish or disseminate the following content:

• Content that violates the basic principles established by the Constitution;
• Content that endangers national security, leaks state secrets, subverts state power, or undermines national unity;
• Content that damages national honor and interests;
• Content that incites ethnic hatred, ethnic discrimination, or undermines ethnic unity;
• Content that undermines national religious policies, promotes cults, or feudal superstitions;
• Content that spreads rumors, disturbs social order, or undermines social stability;
• Content that disseminates obscenity, pornography, gambling, violence, murder, terror, or instigates crime;
• Content that insults or slanders others, or infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of others;
• Content that contains other prohibited matters under laws and administrative regulations.

4.2 You may not use the Platform to engage in any behavior that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others.

4.3 You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform.

Intellectual Property

5.1 The copyright of preprint papers uploaded by you to the Platform belongs to you or your collaborators.

5.2 You grant the Platform a free, non-exclusive license worldwide to use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, and distribute the content you upload, solely for the purpose of providing platform services.

5.3 All content on the Platform (including but not limited to text, images, audio, video, software, code, etc.) is owned by the Platform or relevant rights holders.

Disclaimer

6.1 The Platform makes no guarantees regarding the content, quality, accuracy, or completeness of preprint papers uploaded by users.

6.2 You understand and agree that the risks of using the Platform services are borne by you. The Platform is not responsible for service interruptions or other defects caused by network conditions, communication lines, third-party websites, or any other reason.

6.3 The Platform is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages.

Termination

7.1 If you violate any provision of these Terms, the Platform has the right to immediately terminate the provision of services to you.

7.2 You may stop using the Platform services and cancel your account at any time.

7.3 After termination of the agreement, the Platform still reserves the right to pursue your past actions.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

8.1 The conclusion, execution, and interpretation of these Terms and the resolution of disputes shall be governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China.

8.2 If any dispute arises between the parties regarding the content or execution of these Terms, the parties shall first attempt to resolve it through friendly consultation; if consultation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the people's court having jurisdiction at the location of the Platform.

Miscellaneous

9.1 If any provision of these Terms is wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and binding.

9.2 The Platform's failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

9.3 The final right of interpretation of these Terms belongs to the SinoXiv Platform.
